Building with tiles
This project started with inspiration from tile wisdom. The tile we hang on the wall, you know the one with an inspiring saying. The 10cm by 10cm tile. Instead of hanging it on the wall, I started building with it. What more can this tile in its shape. By experimenting in colors and playing with layers, new textures were created. Textures that you can see as a banana peel. If you peel the first layer off you reach the colorful core.
By stacking and experimenting in layers and color, new tiles were created. These tiles became new objects. Objects that contain a little wisdom.

The tile cube
This cube is made up of 6 or 10 tiles. Each cube has its own character.
By placing layers on top of each other, a game is created between color and texture. The cubes are made by hand, so no one is the same. The cubes and textures are all different and therefore unique.

The tile vase
These tile vases are made up of 2 or 3 tiles. It brings the tile back to one of its original "hanging" uses. Here the flexibility of the tile is played with.

a little touch
The series have different colors and the texture is never the same. The difference in texture is due to the ceramic process. It challenges people to touch it.

Bana - na - na
By playing with the tile texture, the bana - na -na has been created. Just like the tiles, the banana always has a different jacket on. peeling off the layers.
